Winter Wellness

  • Common Ritual 22 South 3rd Street Newark, Ohio, 43055 United States (map)

Autumn is the perfect time to begin working on supporting our immune systems, getting into a good practice of health, and stocking the cupboard with immune supportive herbs and remedies to help guard us from cold and flu season.

Winter brings its own rhythm…slower days, cozy evenings, and, of course, the inevitable sniffles, coughs, and seasonal bugs that make their way through our households.

In this workshop, we'll explore how to care for ourselves and our families throughout the colder months using traditional herbal preparations and plants that grow right here in our region. We'll talk about supporting everyday immune health, tending to those first signs of illness, and finding comfort and relief when someone in the house isn't feeling their best.

We'll get to know the herbs behind familiar preparations like elderberry syrup, fire cider, warming teas, respiratory syrups, and tinctures, learning what they're traditionally used for, how to prepare them, and when to reach for them.

Rooted in bioregional herbalism and practical home care, this class is all about putting together a well-stocked family herbal medicine cabinet so you can head into winter feeling prepared, confident, and ready to care for your household.

Because when everyone in the house is sick, the last thing you want to be doing is making elderberry syrup from scratch!

The first half really breaks down what makes up our immune system and how to support the systems within it. The second half is more remedy focused.

In this immersive workshop we will be making and/or tasting:

  • An immune support tea blend,

  • Elderberry syrup,

  • Fire cider, and

  • an herbal broth for resiliency, and

  • an herbal bitters formula.

There are two options for this workshop: instruction only or an addition of an herbal wellness package (valued at $62) containing:

  • elderberry syrup mix

  • herbal broth mix

  • Sunshine Bitters or Resilience tincture, and

  • Mother Elda’s Cold Care tea

Space is limited to 8, so register soon to ensure your spot!
